GOLDEN WOLF GRID PRO USER GUIDE FOR MT4 AND MT5 EXPERT ADVISORS Document version: 1.00 Language: English Product: Golden Wolf Grid PRO Platforms: MetaTrader 4 / MetaTrader 5 Recommended symbol: XAUUSD / GOLD Recommended timeframe: M15 1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Golden Wolf Grid PRO is an Expert Advisor designed for automated trading on Gold, XAUUSD / GOLD. The EA uses grid-based trading logic and is intended to work with market price fluctuations. The EA can be used with ready-made optimized settings or additionally optimized by the user according to a specific broker, account type, spread, commission, quotes, and personal risk requirements. It is strongly recommended to use the EA only after historical testing, optimization, and forward testing. 2. RECOMMENDED TRADING CONDITIONS Recommended symbol: XAUUSD / GOLD Recommended timeframe: M15 Recommended account type: ECN / RAW / Pro Recommended spread: low Recommended execution: fast market execution Recommended MT5 account mode: Hedging A VPS is recommended for stable 24/5 operation. The EA is sensitive to trading conditions because XAUUSD often has high volatility, spread expansion, and fast impulse movements. The lower the spread and the better the execution, the more stable the trading system may perform. 3. IMPORTANT RISK WARNING Trading financial markets involves high risk. Grid strategies may increase account exposure during strong one-directional market movements. Before running the EA on a live account, always: - test the EA on historical data; - optimize the parameters for your broker; - perform forward testing; - check performance on a demo account; - use a reasonable lot size; - avoid excessive risk; - do not trade with funds you cannot afford to lose. Past testing results do not guarantee future profit. 4. INSTALLING THE EA IN METATRADER 4 4.1. Installing the EA file 1. Open MetaTrader 4. 2. In the top menu, select: File -> Open Data Folder. 3. Also check: - automated trading is allowed in the terminal settings; - trading is allowed in the EA settings; - the XAUUSD symbol is available for trading; - there are no broker restrictions for minimum lot, stop level, or trading hours. 7. MAIN EA SETTINGS Parameter names may slightly differ in different EA versions, but the main logic remains the same. 7.1. Lot / Lot Size The trading lot size. The higher the lot, the higher the potential profit and the higher the risk. For the first launch, it is recommended to use a minimum or conservative lot size. 7.2. Magic Number A unique identifier for the EA's trades. If several EAs or several charts are used on one account, it is better to use a different Magic Number for each EA. 7.3. Take Profit The profit target level. This parameter defines the distance to the profit target. The value should match the broker conditions and the optimization logic. 7.4. Stop Loss The loss limitation level. It is used to protect the position from unfavorable market movement. 7.5. MaxDD % The maximum allowed drawdown in percent. This parameter is used for risk control. If the drawdown reaches the specified value, the EA may restrict trading or perform protective actions depending on the version. 7.6. Max Positions Per Day The maximum number of new positions per day. This parameter helps limit overtrading and reduce account exposure. 7.7. Trading Days The days of the week when the EA is allowed to open new trades. You can disable trading on specific days, for example Friday or days with low liquidity. 7.8. Trading Hours Trading hours based on the broker server time. This parameter allows the EA to open new trades only during the selected trading interval. 7.9. Spread Filter / Max Spread The maximum allowed spread. If the current spread is higher than the specified value, the EA will not open new trades. 7.10. Trade Comment The trade comment. The comment is displayed in the trade history and helps identify the EA's orders. 7.11. Panel Settings Settings of the information panel on the chart. The panel may show key data about the EA status, current symbol, spread, profit, drawdown, trading permissions, and other parameters. 8. INFORMATION PANEL ON THE CHART The EA may display a colored information panel on the chart. The panel is designed for quick monitoring of the current EA status. The panel may display: - EA name; - current symbol; - timeframe; - spread; - current profit or loss; - number of open positions; - trading status; - permission by trading days and hours; - MaxDD %; - daily position limit. If the panel is movable, it can be dragged with the mouse to a convenient place on the chart. After moving, the panel position may be saved. 9. TESTING IN METATRADER 4 1. Open View -> Strategy Tester. 2. Select the Golden Wolf Grid PRO EA. 3. Select the XAUUSD symbol. 4. Set the timeframe to M15. 5. Select the testing model: Every tick. 6. Set the testing period. 7. Check the deposit size and account currency. 8. Open Inputs and load the ready-made settings or set parameters manually. 9. Click Start. 10. After the test is finished, check the Results, Graph, Report, and Journal tabs. If the test does not open trades, check: - correct symbol; - correct timeframe; - trading days and trading hours; - daily position limit; - Max Spread; - lot size; - price history availability; - filters are not too strict; - trading is not disabled by the broker during the selected period. 10. TESTING IN METATRADER 5 1. Open View -> Strategy Tester. 2. Select the Golden Wolf Grid PRO EA. 3. Select the XAUUSD symbol. 4. Set the timeframe to M15. 5. Recommended testing mode: Every tick based on real ticks. 6. Select the testing period. 7. Set the deposit and leverage. 8. For grid strategies, a Hedging account is recommended. 9. Load the prepared set file or set the parameters manually. 10. Click Start. 11. After the test is finished, check the report, balance graph, drawdown, and journal. If the MQL Market tester checks the EA on other symbols and timeframes, this is normal. For real use, XAUUSD M15 is recommended. 11. OPTIMIZATION The EA can be used with ready-made settings, but for more accurate adaptation to a specific broker, optimization is recommended. Parameters that can be optimized: - lot size; - Take Profit; - Stop Loss; - grid parameters; - trading hours; - maximum spread; - daily position limit; - MaxDD %; - entry filters. Optimization recommendations: - do not optimize too many parameters at the same time; - use realistic spread and commission; - do not select settings only by maximum profit; - pay attention to drawdown; - check the number of trades; - exclude parameter sets with excessive risk; - always perform forward testing. 12. FORWARD TESTING Forward testing shows how the EA performs on data that was not used during optimization. Recommended procedure: 1. Optimize the EA on the main historical period. 2. Select several stable parameter sets. 3. Test them on a separate forward period. 4. Compare profit, drawdown, stability, and number of trades. 5. Select settings that show stability, not only maximum profit. 6. Check the selected settings on a demo account. 13. RUNNING ON A DEMO ACCOUNT Before live trading, it is recommended to run the EA on a demo account. Check: - whether the EA opens trades; - whether trading hours are followed correctly; - whether the daily position limit works correctly; - whether the allowed spread is not exceeded; - whether the panel is displayed correctly; - whether the EA behavior matches the Strategy Tester results; - whether there are any errors in the terminal journal. Recommended demo testing time: at least 1-2 weeks, preferably longer. 14. RUNNING ON A LIVE ACCOUNT After successful testing, you can move to live trading. Recommendations: - start with a minimum or conservative lot; - use an account with low spread; - monitor drawdown; - do not increase risk too quickly; - use a VPS; - check the terminal journal; - monitor EA operation after terminal updates or broker changes. It is not recommended to start the EA immediately with a large lot without prior demo testing. 15. USING A VPS A VPS is recommended for stable EA operation, especially if the EA must run without interruptions. VPS advantages: - the terminal works continuously; - lower risk of disconnection due to local internet issues; - lower latency to the broker server; - stable operation during the trading week. After moving the terminal to a VPS, check: - automated trading is enabled; - the EA is installed correctly; - the settings are loaded; - the XAUUSD M15 chart is open; - the panel is displayed; - there are no errors in the journal. 16. COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS 16.1. The EA does not open trades Check: - AutoTrading / Algo Trading is enabled; - trading is allowed in the EA settings; - XAUUSD is selected; - the timeframe is M15; - Max Spread is not exceeded; - current trading hours are allowed; - current weekday is allowed; - daily position limit has not been reached; - lot size is correct; - account has enough free margin; - broker trading is not disabled. 16.2. No trades in the Strategy Tester Check: - correct symbol is selected; - enough historical data is available; - the testing period is not too short; - filters are not too strict; - trading days are not disabled; - spread is suitable; - grid step is not too high. 16.3. no trading operations error during validation This error may occur if the EA does not open any trades during a test. For real use, use XAUUSD M15. During MQL Market validation, the EA may be tested on different symbols and timeframes, but the trading logic of the product is designed for Gold. 16.4. Strategy Tester journal is too large If the tester journal grows too quickly, disable debug mode if this parameter is available. It is not recommended to keep detailed logging enabled during long testing or optimization. 16.5. The EA opens too many trades Reduce risk and check: - Max Positions Per Day; - lot size; - grid parameters; - trading hours; - entry filters; - MaxDD %. 16.6. Drawdown is higher than expected Possible reasons: - lot size is too high; - spread is high; - strong one-directional Gold movement; - grid parameters are too aggressive; - deposit is too small; - trading during news; - poor order execution. 17. RISK MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS Moderate risk is especially important for grid strategies. Recommended: - start with the minimum lot; - do not use excessive leverage; - limit MaxDD %; - do not increase lot size after a series of profitable trades without testing; - use trading hours with better liquidity; - avoid trading under unstable conditions; - analyze results regularly. 18. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MT4 AND MT5 MT4: - uses .mq4 and .ex4 files; - has a simpler Strategy Tester; - mainly uses the Every tick testing model; - widely used for Forex and CFDs. MT5: - uses .mq5 and .ex5 files; - has a more advanced Strategy Tester; - supports Every tick based on real ticks; - supports netting and hedging accounts; - hedging is recommended for grid trading. The EA usage logic is similar on both platforms: install the file, open XAUUSD M15, enable automated trading, load settings, test the EA, and only then use it on a live account. 19. RECOMMENDED WORKFLOW 1. Install the EA in MetaTrader. 2. Open XAUUSD M15. 3. Load the ready-made settings. 4. Check the main risk parameters. 5. Run a historical test. 6. Optimize if necessary. 7. Perform forward testing. 8. Check operation on a demo account. 9. Start live trading with minimum risk. 10. Regularly monitor results and drawdown. 20. CONCLUSION Golden Wolf Grid PRO is an automated trading EA for Gold XAUUSD on the M15 timeframe. The EA can be used with ready-made optimized settings or adapted by the user to specific trading conditions. For better results, use a quality broker with low spread, stable execution, VPS hosting, and conservative risk settings. Before live trading, always perform testing, optimization, and forward validation.
