Six gold breakout strategies managed by one Expert Advisor on one chart.

Demo release: the live demo runs the three Cascade Breakout strategies. Use the Strategy Tester to try the complete six-strategy portfolio with the files in Real_EA_Setfiles.

Setup guide

Unpack the downloaded zip file.
Open your running MetaTrader 5 terminal.
Click File -> Open Data Folder.
Inside the terminal data folder, open MQL5/Experts.
Copy GBE_Public_Test.ex5 from the extracted zip folder into the MQL5/Experts folder.
Copy the included .set files into MQL5/Profiles/Tester if you want them available from the Strategy Tester input loader.
Return to MetaTrader 5 and refresh the Navigator.
Open your broker's gold symbol, such as XAUUSD.
Drag the Gold Breakout Engine from the Navigator onto the XAUUSD chart.
Load a set file for your account size and preferred setup.
Check allocations, drawdown limits and the Magic Number.
Complete authentication and enable Algo Trading.
Test the setup with your broker's spread and commission before live use.

Use only one EA instance per account so its saved state remains unambiguous.

Continuing a saved run

Saved allocation setup

Keep saved progress and saved allocations for matching strategies.

New allocation setup

Keep saved progress but apply the currently selected allocations.

Start without saved progress

Delete saved runtime progress and start from the current inputs.

Strategies are matched by Magic Number and Comment. If the saved and selected setups match, the EA restores the run automatically.

How the portfolio works

Each strategy has its own capital allocation, simulated balance and drawdown limits. The Portfolio Manager also monitors the combined result.

Using several strategies reduces dependence on one trading idea. Their weaker periods may occur at different times, which smoothens the combined result. Diversification can reduce risk, that is why it is recommended to operate more strategies in the portfolio at once.

Set files and parameters

Each strategy has Allocation, Daily Drawdown and Overall Drawdown settings. The Portfolio has its own Overall Drawdown limit.

Risk level: the indicated approximate drawdown assumes that all strategies selected by that configuration run together. Using fewer strategies reduces diversification and can increase drawdown. The indicated value is not a guarantee.

Rebalancing

Rebalancing returns strategy capital toward the configured allocation so one strategy does not gradually dominate portfolio risk.

Scheduled automatic rebalancing is currently available only in the Strategy Tester. Live automatic rebalancing is planned for a later release.

On-chart interface

Portfolio page: combined balance, allocation and risk state.
Strategy pages: each strategy's capital, performance and trading state.
View selector: switches pages without additional charts.

Settings panel

State saving: use AutoSave or Manual Save to store the current EA state, including the Portfolio and strategy progress. Saving lets the EA continue from the current state after a reload.
Manual rebalancing: use Default Rebalance for the configured allocation, or Advanced Rebalance to adjust selected strategy balances yourself. Save the state afterwards if you want to keep the new distribution.
Automatic rebalance: coming soon for live-account settings and scheduling.
