Expert Advisor Backtesting – Deliverables Specification

This document outlines the detailed requirements for testing my Expert Advisor (EX4 file). The EA is license-locked and will be activated only for the MT4 account number shared by the tester.

1. Overview

- File Type: .ex4 only (no source code)
- Symbol: BTCUSD
- Timeframe: 1-Minute (M1)
- Duration: At least 10 years (from 2013 to the most recent date available)
- Initial Deposit: £1,000
- Lot Size: Already configured inside the EA
- Broker Type: Vantage International STP or a broker with equivalent conditions
- Modeling Quality: Minimum 90% (ideally 99%)
- Tick Data: Must be used (via Tick Data Suite or similar)
- Delivery Deadline: Within 2 days from activation

2. Report Format (Required)

Deliver the report in the following formats:

- PDF (full backtest report)
- HTML (export from MT4 Strategy Tester)
- Optional: CSV/Excel file with trade history

3. Key Metrics to Include

Please ensure the following metrics are included:

- Total Net Profit / Loss
- Profit Factor
- Expected Payoff
- Absolute, Maximal, and Relative Drawdown
- Total Number of Trades
- Percentage of Long / Short Trades Won
- Win Rate / Loss Rate
- Sharpe Ratio (if available)
- Average Trade Duration
- Largest Win / Largest Loss
- Recovery Factor
- Average Consecutive Wins / Losses

4. Visuals and Charts

Include the following visual reports:

- Equity Curve (showing full 10-year growth)
- Balance vs. Equity Graph
- Monthly and Yearly Profit Breakdown
- Drawdown Chart
- Optional: Profit distribution histogram or Monte Carlo simulation

5. Trade Log

Full trade history in readable format:

- Ticket number
- Date and time (entry and exit)
- Trade direction (Buy/Sell)
- Symbol
- Entry and exit price
- Lot size
- SL/TP values
- Profit in £
- Running equity after trade

Format can be:
- HTML export
- CSV
- Table embedded in PDF

6. Environment and Tester Settings

Please specify:

- Broker used (and whether it mimics Vantage STP)
- Tick data provider (e.g., Dukascopy)
- Modeling quality %
- Spread setting (fixed or variable, and average used)
- Execution delay or slippage settings
- Leverage used
- Screenshot of the MT4 Strategy Tester settings panel

7. Screenshots Required

- Strategy Tester “Settings” tab
- “Results” tab (partial screenshot is fine)
- “Graph” tab with equity curve
- “Report” tab summary
- Any error logs (if occurred)

8. Optional Bonus (If Available)

- A separate short-term backtest (e.g., 2023–2024) for consistency check
- A brief analysis of the EA behavior (e.g., scalping, breakout, etc.)
- Comparison between two brokers (optional)

Final Notes

- Please do not attempt to decompile or misuse the EX4 file.
- License will be granted only to the MT4 account number you provide.
- All files must be submitted within 2 days from account activation.
